I’ve recently returned from the International BOMA convention in Nashville where our organization had a fantastic representation of members. Congratulations to Centennial Lakes Office Park for winning an International TOBY Award in the Suburban Office Park (Mid-Rise) category (on their first submission). Talk about getting it right the first time!
Just over a week ago, the BOMA Board of Directors gathered for our annual strategic planning session where we formulated both short and long term goals. I enjoyed this session and creating our “to-do” list for the future of BOMA. In the upcoming year, the board will continue to focus on advocacy, education, and networking. Advocacy to influence public policy at local, state, and federal level. Education to provide continuing professional growth for members. Networking to create opportunities for members to exchange ideas and information.
Speaking of networking, I recall the first few BOMA meetings I attended as a new member. It was rather intimidating to enter a room full real estate professionals. However, the President at the time encouraged me to join in and participate. Now, 20 years later, it feels like lunch with friends and neighbors. I am honored to be your President and look forward to working with the Board of Directors and BOMA staff.
