Suburban Mayoral Forum: Leveraging Local Governments for Statewide Benefit
Most of us either work/live in the suburbs near Minneapolis. Although there are several similarities, each municipality may differ slightly on how they govern their city. There are varying degrees of topics which are crucial to businesses and citizens in their city. What do the mayors of local suburban cities see as their concerns? Do they have distinctive offerings to entice and retain businesses and residents? This session will apprise attendees of the unique qualities of each city, listen to their current issues, and hear the positive impact business has on their community.
This forum will be moderated by Doug Carnival (McGrann Shea Carnival Straughn & Lamb, Chartered). The mayors included in the forum are: Mayor Jim Hovland (Edina), Mayor Kelli Slavik (Plymouth), Mayor Jake Spano (St. Louis Park), and Mayor Gene Winstead (Bloomington).
